quick disclaimer tho: it’s not fully functional like TikTok Shop is in the sense affiliates can join and start promoting it, but it seems that it’s clearly the direction Meta is heading after seeing how successful TikTok Shop has been

but as far as we know the big difference between Instagram Shop and Meta Marketplace is that you can

1) upload your product directly to a reel with a “buy now” button

2) Meta is going to be handling the transactions to make this possible, and not leaving the backend to Shopify anymore

and this also means if TikTok ever did go away for whatever reason… there is no need to worry!
