MACRO
Boeing’s Massive Restructure

Boeing, one of the biggest names in aerospace, is shaking things up to deal with some serious financial issues. Here's what’s going on:

  • Massive Job Cuts: Boeing is laying off 17,000 workers, which is about 10% of its total workforce. It’s part of a major cost-cutting effort to improve profitability.

  • Delays in the 777x Jetliner: The release of their 777x jetliner, which many in the industry were excited about, is delayed yet again.

  • Big Financial Hit: Boeing expects a $5 billion pre-tax charge for this quarter. Ouch! This comes as the company struggles in both its commercial and defense sectors.

  • What’s the Goal?: Boeing’s CEO says this is all about facing the financial realities head-on. The company is trying to cut costs and get back on track.

It’s a tough time for Boeing, but this restructuring might be what they need to survive the turbulence ahead!

POLITICS
Tariff & Trade Policy

Politics can have a huge impact on business, especially with elections around the corner. Here’s what’s been going on in the world of trade and economics this week:

  • Trade Tariffs in the Spotlight: U.S. trade policy is in the news, with the 2024 election putting tariffs front and center

    • Kamala Harris: If she wins, expect trade policies similar to what we’ve seen under Biden—keeping many of the tariffs on Chinese goods in place.

    • Donald Trump: Trump wants to take a more aggressive stance, proposing tariffs as high as 60% on Chinese goods. He’s also suggesting a universal tariff on imports, which could push inflation higher and slow economic growth

  • U.S. Steel & Friendshoring: The potential sale of U.S. Steel to Japan’s Nippon Steel has sparked debate. Should the U.S. allow foreign companies to buy key industries? The deal is part of a larger trend called "friendshoring," where trade is aligned with trusted allies to secure supply chains.

  • Digital Trade Shifts: The U.S. is also updating its stance on digital trade and data localization. Instead of pushing for totally free digital flows, there’s a focus on protecting national security. This might mean stricter regulations for tech companies dealing with international data

With the election heating up, keep an eye on how these policies could impact businesses and the economy. Whether it’s tariffs, trade deals, or digital regulations, there’s a lot at stake for companies operating globally.

TECH
Nvidia’s AI Surge and SoFi’s Big Move

The world of tech and AI has been buzzing, with Nvidia and SoFi Technologies making headlines. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Nvidia’s AI Surge: Nvidia continues to crush it, riding the global AI boom. The company’s chips are essential for AI tech, and everyone is investing heavily in their future.

  • SoFi Technologies Makes a Big Play: SoFi locked in a $2 billion loan deal with Fortress Capital. This deal is all about helping SoFi grow its personal loans business.

  • Why Does This Matter?: SoFi is expanding beyond just banking—it’s becoming a leader in personal loans. With this new funding, expect to see SoFi ramp up its lending efforts even more

Both Nvidia and SoFi are betting big on future tech, and it’s paying off in a major way.

MICRO
Working Organic Content Strategies

Notes:

  • The hook directly calls out a demographic, which may automatically make the video interesting to the demographic (in this case arabic women). however, it also brings up a point that a lot of people thought of themselves and were curious about… why do arabic women have such clear skin

  • this has the same vibes as conspiracy style, but it’s more like an exposé type style where they are giving away secrets (like the korean skincare style, or the nathan & sons underbrush gum)

  • she shows herself using the product in pictures behind her which gives lots of credibility to her explains how it works - plus, her skin is clear so people may think this product is the reason for that. it’s important for your creators to look the part of the product.

  • the educational element of this angle keeps people engaged and trusting so this video likely resulted in very high sales because it was super product focused and informative!

Notes:

  • this guy is a demon when it comes to content - he pumps out bangers like this one all the time

  • he often uses podcast clips by famous people (like seen above) for interesting visual and audible hooks!

  • when he flips to his own screen he has a script ready announcing his ethos by saying his dad is the highest paid doctor in his field, and then in proper manner starts explaining which type of NAD you should be taking for the best effects. This type of style comes off as a PSA because it feels like this nurse practitioner on TikTok is warning me to take the correct type of NAD… and then they’re linking it for me so i don’t get the wrong one

  • it’s a good narrative to create in the customers head that the creator linked the product not to receive commission, but to make sure you get the right kind of supplement! Makes for a good CTA

  • He adds onto that narrative by explaining that there are tons of fakes on TikTok so that it’s important to use his link to make sure your aren’t scammed

  • You can use this CTA for almost any kind of product

Notes:

  • great text hook creating intrigue thinking he’s talking about drugs

  • great verbal hook that would get just about anybody intrigued with what he’s about to say next

  • great job at natural storytelling with an event that seems like a fairly realistic scenario, if you make the scenario too crazy people are less likely to belive the story and it may create a bad brand image

  • keeps the video 80% product focused which means it likely converted well

  • he brings joe rogan into the mix to give the product some ethos

  • then he continues to keep it scientific focused and explains how it actually works

  • after that he gives a personal testimonial which can be key to trust

  • then he drives home the best selling factor of the gum which is the infusing of L-Theanine with caffeine that makes you focus so well for hours

  • lastly - he pulls out the price comparison and brings attention that two pieces costs $0.30 so you it’s much cheaper than alternatives like energy drinks and also healthier

  • he hits all the talking points for the brand and he entertained the audience - so most of them don’t mind the fact that it’s an ad because they were entertained
